Our suitcases were packed, everyone arrived at the airport in time and the Icelandic volcano had stopped smoke- breathing!

To put it in a nutshell, nothing could stop us from landing in London in time.

england01After a bus trip to Canterbury, more precisely to Sturry, we were taken to our host families where we first came in touch with English customs and their typical lifestyle.

Stafford House and Frau Prof. Krenn had established a very well- thought- out plan for our stay to give us the chance to make as much experiences as possible in one single week.

Thus our days started with lessons where we discussed certain topics, like newspapers, tales or Great Britain. These lessons provided us with the opportunity to express our opinions while we improved our English skills!

After we had our lunch in the canteen, we did different excursions every day.

In the course of the week we were taken to Leeds Castle where we had  a closer lookb at the impressively garden and the outstanding interior decoration and had to find a way through a maze; we walked through low tunnels in the footsteps of Winston Churchill in Dover Castle and we were led into the mystic world of knights and court ladies in the Museum Of Canterbury Tales.

Furthermore the evening programme offered a great variety of entertainment!

Whether we sang a series of songs (even with our teachers!) an the Karaoke evening or if we tried to shoot each other in Planet Lazer, we enjoyed it a lot!

At the weekend we put up with getting up an hour earlier to see the famous cities Cambridge and Brighton!

Walking from one College to another being told what important inventions -that we take for granted nowadays- were forged behind their walls was a arresting as discovering the unique stores of The Lanes while being able to see the sea.

Last but not least I should mention that we were also able to stock up on some sunshine as it only rained on the last day of our journey!

All in all we stood to benefit from our trip to England gaining lots of experience and polishing up our English at the same time!
